Ramadhan wins feature at Jebel Ali with Raahy, first wins of season for Bouresly and Bin Harmash

Dubai: Jaber Ramadhan, Rashed Bouresly and Ahmad bin Harmash opened their accounts for the season at Jebel Ali Friday afternoon with the former winning the feature on the six race card with the Adrie de Vries ridden Raahy.

Ramadhan’s charge was given a solid ride by De Vries and made the running 100m from the finish in the 1000m conditions event to win by a length and a quarter from Jebel Ali resident hero Raakezz, trained by Nicholas Bachalard and ridden by Ryan Curatolo.

The 3yo Brazen Beau gelding tracked Raakezz, who made the running and flew once asked to give everything winning comfortably in the end for Ramadhan who picked up his sixth career success overall.

Vries, meanwhile, was posting his second win of the campaign. Finishing third, a further length behind Raakezz was Major Cinammon for Mujeeb Rahman under Fernando Jara.

Imprison (ERA)

Ras Al Khaimah based conditioner Bouresly starting for the first time this season opened with a bang as Imprison romped to a five length success under Fabrice Veron in the 1200m handicap, with Iftitah second for Musabbeh Al Mheiri under Antonio Fresu. A further three back in third was Faith And Fortune for trainer Ali Rashid Al Rayhi with Connor Beasley up.

Bin Harmash won the longest race on the card the 1950m handicap with Sa’Ada, who snatched the lead from Doug Watson’s Rougher 400m out and leapt further away to win by seven and a quarter lengths in the hands of Jara. Back in third, a further two and a quarter behind was Salem bin Ghadayer’s massive race favourite Fraserburgh.

Watson and Pat Dobbs combined to land the card opening 1400m maiden with Masaali, owned by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who enjoyed a card double, with the Al Rayhi schooled Almoreb making it back to back wins for the owner in the 1400m handicap that followed.

Satish Seemar’s Richard Mullen ridden Cross The Ocean won the 1000m maiden which was the penultimate race and saw the late withdrawal of Bin Ghadayer trained pair Line Of Sunshine and Hurry Up.

It was the most keenly contested race as well with 2yo Frosted colt Cross The Ocean stealing the show from Watson’s Dobbs ridden Uncle Hamed 300m out and winning the battle of the bobbing heads between the pair by a nose. In third place, a further length and a quarter back, was Tahdeed for Bachalard and Curatolo.
