The 11th edition of the match turned out to be a pulsating one as Ghantoot A took on Ghantoot B during the course of an event that is aimed at raising breast cancer awareness across the United Arab Emirates. Pink Polo Day is held under the patronage of Sheikh Falah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Chairman of GRPC, who is also one of the major supporters of the sport in the UAE.

Held in association with Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the traditional season opener also marked the resumption of equestrian activities at GRPC after the previous season was cut short due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Sheikh Sultan bin Falah bin Zayed Al Nahyan graced the occasion and gave away the prizes to winners Ghantoot A who edged the Ghantoot B 4-3.

Ghantoot A comprised Abdullah bin Desmal, Fahad Al Qubaisi, Nasser Al Shamsi and Manuel Tocallino, while the 'B' side was made up of Faris Al Yabhouni, Ali Al Marri, Yousef bin Desmal and Miguel Rafael Delia.

“We truly hope that with initiatives like Pink Polo Day, the sport will be recognised and known more widely to the public and that players can come together to play sport and support a good cause.”

Pink Polo Day was sponsored by YAS International Properties LLC, Capex, Bulgari, Livius, Urban Quill, Ayaso Boutique, Sabs and Prickly Pear. The next event on the club’s calendar is another exhibition match on November 25. It is being hosted as part of the UAE's 49th National Day celebrations.
