Dubai: Musabbeh Al Mheiri and Antonio Fresu took the plaudits at Jebel Ali Friday afternoon with a double, their wins coming either side of Ahmad bin Harmash’s success in day’s feature.

Dahawi winning for Al Mheiri under Fresu (ERA)

Al Mheiri's double took his seasonal tally to five, while Fresu has now won eight times. The pair opened their account with Dahawi who led in a 1-2 for his yard in the 1200m handicap for 4yo and above horses rated 76-95 with Mutaraffa running in a length and a quarter behind under Dane O’Neill even as Jaber Ramadhan’s Adrie de Vries ridden Trickbag took third a further head back.

Al Mheiri and Fresu then won the 3yo maiden over 1600m with Dark Of Night, who went ahead 100m out and was two and three fourths of a length ahead at the post.

Dark Of Night brought a second success for Al Mheiri and Fresu (ERA)

In second was Doug Watson’s Far Sky with Pat Dobbs up, while Satish Seemar’s Mazagran was two and a half back in the hands of Tadhg O’Shea.

The feature event of the card was a conditions run over 1200m and Bin Harmash’s charge Dark Silver nicked it in style under Fernando Jara, the pair running home nine and a quarter lengths clear of You’Re My Rock, trained by Rashed Bouresly and ridden by Fabrice Veron. Ramadhan’s Raahy was a further four and quarter back in third under De Vries.

All Gold: Dark Silver was a resounding winner of the Jebel Ali feature Friday afternoon for trainer Ahmad bin Harmash and rider Fernando Jara (ERA)

British riding sensation Tom Marquand replaced Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's retained UAE rider Ryan Curatolo who is out of action on account of being suspended and resident Jebel Ali trainer Nicholas Bachalard gained immensely.

All Class: Marquand's brilliance was evident aboard Mouheeb who won for trainer Nicholas Bachalard in Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's colours (ERA)

Marquand, who narrowly missed scoring at Meydan Thursday night, more than made up for that second place finish when winning the card opening 1200m maiden for 2yo colts and geldings by two and three fourths of a length with Mouheeb.

Salem bin Ghadayer trained next two in with the Royston Ffrench ridden Hurry Up placing second and Rare Ninja with Xavier Ziani up taking third a further length and a half in arrears.

Honourable Justice (left) winning for Salem bin Ghadayer under Royston Ffrench (ERA)

Bin Ghadayer’s disappointment was short lived as he won the second event on the card, a 1200m handicap with Honorable Justice, who pipped the Bouresly trained and Jara piloted Salvadori by a head on the line. Relegated to third by a further nose was Watson’s Fawaareq, the ride of Dane O’Neill.

Watson and Pat Dobbs scored in the final race on the card, the 1600m handicap with Habah running home three fourths of a length ahead of the Bouresly trained Final Rock with De Vries up. Watson saddled third place by a short head Eshtiraak as well.

Habah won the last race on the card for Doug Watson under Pat Dobbs (ERA)
